Lakewood is expanding at such a rapid rate that the GPS week rollover (Started on 4/6) could impact an operator’s ability to accurately assess grid reliability conditions in real-time and replace older equipment that may be affected causing spotty power outages. GPS satellites, provide system operators with a near real-time snapshot of the grid’s operating status.
