Thousands head to Kerestir for Reb Shayele’s Yahrtzeit; Seudah to be held in Lakewood

Thousands from around the globe on the 3rd of Iyur (Tuesday night) will be visiting the Tzion of Reb Shayele Kerestir (Steiner) on his Yahrtzeit.

Reb Shayele, who was Niftar is 1925, was known as tremendous Baal Mofes during his lifetime, and as a big Poel Yeshuos even after his Petirah.

A Kerestir local tells TLS over 25,000 are expected this year at the Tzion.

Hachnosas Orchim at Kerestir works around the clock to serve fresh hot food to the thousands of visitors – just like they do year-round for the constant flow of visitors.

There are hundreds of stories reported by ordinary people who have seen open Nissim with the Tzadik, who is buried in Hungary.

See below a clip from last year at the Tzion.

A Yahrtzeit Seudah will be held in Lakewood Tuesday night.
