Curious to know if anybody saw State police around over Shabbos, Sunday & Monday. I personaly walked over yom tov almost 10 miles combined down many main roads, and although I saw countless Lakewood PD vehicles I didn’t see a single state trooper.
#justwondering ?
Let’s not pretend that it’s all about “Our Safety”! Why are they more concerned about our safety then residents of Newark and Patterson?! Oh wait, maybe because………..
Maybe because the driving habits here are really really bad!
In many instances, the reason all the horrific pedestrian accidents in Lakewood happened was because pedestrians were negligent when crossing the street. If the NJSP are here to rectify that they should ticket J-walkers etc.
I couldn’t agree with you more.
I drive down cedarbridge all the time and have people cross in front of my car as if it doesn’t exist; forcing drivers to suddenly stop which puts even more people at risk.
We need enforcement of jaywalking or a fence (which is a last resort due to slowing down first responders)
over shvuose I watched drug deals going on at the motel at rt 9 and 5th, let them go there and bust up all the illegal activities there!
coming back from bmg in middle of the night on shvuose, I saw plenty of illegal activities going on in the motel on rt 9 , why don’t they bust that stuff up already, for crying out loud
Wouldn’t it be nice if all the $ the State makes off us from ticketing us for our ‘safety’ can be used to fix our State roads, or widen them, etc. for our safety. The State police are here in a moments notice but to fix a road it takes years.
Per previous posters, they came back to collect the leftover cheesecake.
So many minds on vacation with their mouths working overtime. Whatever happened to judging others with the benefit of the doubt. Walk in a Trooper’s shoes for a shift then get back to me. If you make it through the day. Zip it or ship it.
If you see drug deals going on call the police, identify the people doing the drug sales, help the police put these people away. You see it and do nothing then stop complaining.
Everyone knows about the motel.
Very good point from previous comment. If the State is very concerned with public road safety. They would wide the roads so traffic can move safely. Also how about funding some more public transit like Lite Rail, Trains, Subways or bus service
the motel is aprox 3 blocks from the police station, you would think they would have a handle on this issue, not sure why they turn a blind eye on this
@ Ron benvenisti
One can’t be naive when judging other with the benefit of the doubt. When they claim they’re here because of the fatalities and ignore the fact that many of those fatalities took place on Shabbos and that many times the pedestrians were at fault.
There are way too many police patrolling the streets in this town, even without the State Police. I’m often in Chicago, a city with lots of crime and bad drivers, and it sometimes takes me 20 minutes till I encounter a police car; that’s the way it should be, especially in a relatively crime free town such as ours.
Welcome back!! One of the biggest problems regarding teshuva is being honest with oneself. When all the excuses are gone, you are still left with the fact that too many drivers around here of all backgrounds are horribly selfish, unskilled, and spitefully create danger for others!! Stop it!!!
