[COMMUNICATED] By: L. Halevi There’s one! There’s another one! Wow, they are everywhere!
We are talking, of course, about Tomchei Shabbos donors! The unsung heroes of our community, who understand the importance and responsibility of taking care of their friends, neighbors and relatives in need.
There goes another one; we daven in the same Shul! He is a monthly donor, the backbone of Tomchei Shabbos. Yes, the monthly donors are community members who have undertaken to support the vital work of Tomchei Shabbos via a monthly donation that goes directly from their account each month to the pantries, cupboards and tables of families in our midst who need the assistance.
Wherever you go in Lakewood, Toms River and Jackson, you won’t be too far from yet another Tomchei Shabbos donor. You will find them in Bais Medrash Govoha or in other Kollelim, you will find them teaching in Yeshivos and schools, you will find them in workplaces around town, you will find them everywhere. The bottom line is that Lakewood takes care of Lakewood and that is something to be proud of.
No matter what they wear, what kind of car they drive or what their background , Lakewood residents step up to the plate to take care of their own.
Even though there are Tomchei Shabbos recipients 2 minutes away from where you are standing, behind you in the carpool lane and a few rows from you in Shul – yes, Tomchei Shabbos feeds thousands of Lakewood residents- fortunately, Tomchei Shabbos donors are never far behind to ensure that each and every recipient is able to be taken care of properly.
This partnership of donors and recipients is the key to Tomchei Shabbos’ success.
Wow, how fortunate we are in Lakewood to have such a community that cares. A community that takes care of its own!
