Liz Cheney on Brink of Being Ousted – Rep. Liz Cheney is on the verge of being ousted from her position as the no. 3 ranking Republican in the House of Representatives as GOP members become increasingly frustrated with her. Cheney has made it a top priority of hers to butt heads with Donald Trump and other Republicans over the presidential election, which Trump claims was stolen from him. Cheney has made it a point to rehash the election and argue against those who say it was fraudulent. While many agree with her, many others, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy are upset at Cheney, believing that her obsession with Trump’s claims is hurting the party as is attempts to move forward. A vote to oust her from her position could come as soon as next week.

Jobs Data Disappoints – The US economy added just 266,000 jobs in April, well below the 1 million-plus estimated by economists, as employers face severe labor shortages. Addressing the low numbers, President Biden said that it wasn’t expected that the economy would immediately rebound from the pandemic, but Republicans pointed out that Biden’s massive stimulus bill, which they opposed, gives people less incentive to work, as many are making more money now by being unemployed than they would be earning by holding down a job. On the bright side, new unemployment benefits claims hit their lowest level since the beginning of the pandemic, with 498,000 claims submitted.

Trump Facebook Ban Upheld – A review of Trump’s ban from Facebook was upheld by an independent oversight board this week, and Trump will remain off the platform for the foreseeable future. While the oversight board is supposed to be non-partisan, it was noted by some conservatives that the board is filled with people who are actively anti-Trump. The former president also launched a platform to communicate with his supporters this week on his website, but as of now the platform will only include messages from Trump which cannot be replied to or commented on.

Chauvin, 3 Others Indicted – A grand jury has indicted all four police officers involved in the incident that led to the death of George Floyd, charging them with violating Floyd’s civil rights. The multi-count indictment charges all four of the former police officers with failing to provide Floyd with first aid as Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck for more than 9 minutes.

Trump Again Teases 2024 Run – Former President Trump gave the strongest indication to date that he will mount another run for the White House this week, telling Candace Owens of the Daily Wire that his supporters will be “very, very happy” to hear of his decision, but that he cannot yet say anything definitive because of campaign finance laws and the financial disclosures that would be required of him if he officially announced his candidacy.

  1. Cheney is far from obsessed, Trump is, just read his blog posts. Kevin McCarthy is afraid that he will have to testify under oath about his conversation with Trump and Trump ignoring his plea for help for the insurrection that Trump caused by his incendiary and false words. McCarthy wants to win back the house and their message is election stolen and now we need to suppress the vote in the name of election security, no stolen election, most secure election but that narrative is not the one the unstable trump supporters want to hear who now argue in court they should not be held account for attacking the capital because they had foxitus,

    • …Said the kettle to the pot.

Look in the mirror before you call someone unstable. This is a world full of people who all have different opinions. If Trump supporters are unstable just by virtue of the fact that they have an opinion that makes sense to them, then you are unstable too, for the same reason. You are only right in your own mind.

This is just a bunch of “he said”, “she said”.

You may be right, but you make people doubt you with your choice of words.
