Trump Looks To Cut Aid To Immigrants Countries – The Trump administration announced their intentions to cut US aid to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, three countries that have a significant number of citizens emigrating north in an attempt to cross into the United States. President Trump also threatened to shut down border crossings with Mexico as he feels that their government is not enforcing their immigration laws as well as not doing enough to halt the influx of illegal immigrants into the United States. Reports suggest that White House advisors have convinced Trump to back off that specific threat.

Trump Says Health Care Push Will Come After 2020 – In a series of tweets, President Trump said that he would be looking to repeal and replace Obamacare after the 2020 elections, in which he expects Republicans to maintain their control of the Senate and also win a majority in the House. Republicans had tried and failed to repeal and replace Obamacare in 2017, but a lack of support forced them to back down.

House Approves Subpoena Of Mueller Report – Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee approved a subpoena of the entire Mueller report in an effort to get their hands on the details of the Mueller investigation, with the hope of finding and exposing possible damaging details regarding Trump that were not included in Attorney General Bill Barr’s public summary. A New York Times article also claimed that some of Mueller’s investigators believe the information contained in the full 300-page report is far more damaging to President Trump than has been let on by Barr.

Record Cases Of Measles – The Center for Disease Control said that the number of confirmed measles cases in the first three months of 2019 are already more than the entire amount of cases in 2018. There were 372 instances of measles in all of 2018, whereas through March of 2019 there have already been 387 confirmed casesALth. The outbreaks are linked to higher numbers of unvaccinated people and certain states, including New Jersey, have been hit harder than others. Measles is a highly contagious virus which can cause serious complications in pregnant women, children, and those with suppressed or compromised immune systems.

House Requests Trump Tax Docs – The House Ways and Means Committee requested of the Internal Revenue Service to provide six years of Trump’s tax returns, as well as tax-related documents for several of Trump’s businesses. The request was submitted in writing by the chairman of the committee, Rep. Richard Neal, who placed an April 10 deadline for a response. President Trump has said on multiple occasions that he is under audit, and releasing his tax returns at this time could place him in legal and financial jeopardy.

Dem Candidates Pulling In The Cash – Several declared candidates for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020 have announced large hauls of campaign donations. California Senator Kamala Harris announced that she had already raised $12 million, Mayor Pete Buttigieg said he raised $7 million, and socialist Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders reported a staggering $18.2 million in campaign donations.
