Nope.
Vote Republican.
We are not committed to one party! We vote for those who are best for us!
Especially if the Gedolei Rabbanim of or town say to vote for R’ Schnall!
100%. No one should vote for any democratic candidate regardless if they are Jewish. Republican all the way.
Dear Vaad of Lakewood,
With all due respect.
You’ve been endorsing candidates locally for about 3 decades & winning 97% of the elections. You assured us that you chose the best candidates for the good of out town. I believed you & followed your endorsements. Can you explain why Lakewood became such a difficult place to live do to the impossible roads? Why did you allow this to happen over the last 25 years when you had so much influence over the local politicians before it happened?
Why weren’t 4 lane roads built on new busy roads like Vine or Oak St? Why weren’t cross streets built that bypass Rt 9?
Why do you show up at election time with endorsements but are not proactive about getting the infrastructure in our town up to speed?
Sincerely,
A Vaad Voter
Who are the current gedolim they discuss it with? Are there any non-yeshiva rabonim? If not, their recommendations are only for yeshiva guys. I don’t have anything against any of the yeshiva rabonim. I’m just saying there are other kehilas in town.
but the Yeshiva represents the majority…so it makes sense to have the BMG Roshei Yeshiva weigh in heavily on who to vote for. If you want to go with your private Rav, nobody will stop you
Why? Did they meet with the politicians from all parties and discuss the needs of Lakewood? Have they gone around all parts of town, sat down with the people and discussed their needs? I didn’t think so. The vaad decides and claims everything is with Daas Torah. If I ask a shaila in a way to get a certain Psak, I didn’t ask I paskened for myself.
Are R’ Simcha Bunim Cohen and R’ Henoch Shachar (not memebrs of the yeshiva;s faculty) good enough for you? And which other Kehilos are there? I dare you to find even one Rov in this town who doesn’t follow the lead of the Yeshiva? Go Schnall!
What’s non yeshiva rabonim?
He must mean Reform!
Ah, the old “my way or you’re a shaigetz”.
I am not sure what you mean. I am not old and I am not a shaigetz. And every Rov in the greater Lakewood area is alumnus of a yeshiva.
It is fine to say that you are not a yeshiva guy, but do you have another Rav who you are going with? Or are you saying that you don’t want to go with Yeshiva Rabbonim and then voting based on what your favorite political pundit says?
Their opinions on who to vote for perhaps necessary years ago when we didn’t have enough people to vote in town, so we needed a block. Bh, today we have more than enough votes so we don’t have to worry about having someone with bad intentions in office representing us.
It’s a mitzvah to use your brains when voting. Vote for whoever you think will be representing you!
The Vaad is a joke, and have been for years. When will the town wake up?!
So basically, the way it is done is the same way you hug a porcupine. Carefully.
How about the Va’ad hugs a porcupine, and we vote for whoever is best for us?
well the yeshiva came to town before any of your kehilos came and ruined the town. in fact your kehilos only came here because of the yeshiva. so at least you should heed their call.
@Anonymous-just because they are Jewish doesn’t mean we vote necessarily vote for them. Take a look at many of the current Lakewood committee members and zoning board members that are corrupt who are “Jewish” each Jewish candidate must be individually vetted before voting for them. Till then in my humble opinion it is worthwhile to stay republican.
Food for thought:
Please, just imagine a very wealthy businessman would approach you and offer to you $100 for every single possible scenario or thought process that can explain why that specific board member voted a certain way at that meeting. If you come up with 10 different possible reasons why he voted in favor of that project and obviously I mean, that we all see clearly that he meant well for the entire community, you will receive $1,000.
I am 1 billion percent positive that if Klal Yisroel as a whole, if we perfect this Mitzva to judge another individual in a positive light and to truly give him or her the benefit of the doubt, then Hashem will quickly end the war in Eretz Yisroel and also many many people that are not well now, will merit through the Zechus of Klal Yisroel to have a very quick healing and smooth recovery with Hashem’s help.
What a disgusting thing to write.
You are trying to guilt people into voting against their own interests by using Eretz Yisroel.
Sorry, whoever approved the over-building in this town, hurt me. And he has no right to demand my vote now.
If he stands down from his candidacy, it will be a zechus for the yidden in Eretz Yisroel.
I made no mention whatsoever about whom to vote for.
I was referring to the very sharp terminology that he was using in his comment.
He could of spoken a little bit more gently and using language a little bit more friendly and the exact same message that he was trying to pass on to us, would have not changed.
What is wrong with writing the same comment on a friendlier tone?
I forgot to mention that in the merit of
דן חבירו לכף זכות
all the singles should be Zocheh to find their Shidduch as soon as possible with Hashem’s help.
In the merit of voting out those who work to the detriment of the Tzibur, may avraham be zoche to some seichel.
I will follow the vaad 100% as they are guided by daas torah
Ok they are loosing anyway so your vote is worthless.
If you believe that, I have a fantastic piece of real estate to offer you. No, it’s not the Brooklyn bridge.
They had the power of the tzibur block for so many years and look at the mess they created. Its time for a change. A broad based Vaad that represents all the segments of town. With representatives for all areas in town.
Hi would be nice if he can Quote the Rabonim by name. and not just say Daas Torah. Also I have asked many people who are the members of the Vaad. Nobody really knows. If they can do an explainer who they are and who are the robonim they are representing (names). That would be extremely helpful thank you.
This is not true The mashgiach said I should vote for whoever is best for me not what the vaad decides
Interesting as the original “Mesorah” was not to have any frum people on the board.
Guess this is a New Mesorah from 5 min ago..
Or the mesorah that benjamins always win
Whom did the vaad endorse for governor… Thanks for that
We barely got any names here, great first step, but not enough. Please state more names not just “Rabbanim” Askanim” “Gedolim” “Roshei Mosdos” etc. and Rabbanim not alive, for that many titles referenced in the video I would expect more names. Instead of voting for this anonymously run “Vaad.” I’m gonna use my Sechel to choose. He seems pretty bent on us following his advice, so I will wait for a clearer reason on “who” is the Lakewood vaad and “who” was consulted.
It is astonishing to me that any candidate who stands to represent the frum community would even want to affiliate with the utterly disgraceful Democrat party. If they had any wisdom, your two Democrat endorsed candidates should have switched their membership to the Republican party years ago! In your interviews with them did you ask point blank: “Why do you insist on having a ‘D’ after your name?” Unless you can give a rational explanation for this, their candidacies or seriously suspect and therefore disqualifying.
Obviously a Republican can’t accomplish anything in this state where the democrats have such a large majority. That’s part of why Thomson hasn’t passed legislation for us. Running as a republican would not accomplish anything for our community.
Didn’t they endorse Phil Murphy…..How did that work out for NJ not just Lakewood.
Didnt the VAAD endorse all these cadiates in the past and what have we have for it? Higher taxes, major traffic and increased accidents, The Township committee does not even have live meeting (they committe hides behind zoom) so us the taxpayer cant actually have a voice. Dont forget no more plastic bags but yes for marijuana. We need to pay $.20 for a bag! The taxpayers and ‘homon am’ have been getting nothing from them. Vote for those who have YOUR interest. Enough is enough.
Every Frum Yid is required to vote according to Daas Torah.
Our Gedolim know better than we do what is best for us.
We shouldn’t look at this on a personal level. Even if our taxes are higher, our lives are more complicated by more regulations & traffic & accidents are rapidly rising we still must follow Daas Torah. We have no idea (& it’s a Chutzpah to ask) what the Vaad works out with politicians for the benefit of the Yeshiva & the Kehilla.
Lakewood only came into existence & continues to exist as the “Ihr Hatorah” because of all the limud Torah going on all over the community.
There’s a name for a person that goes against our Gedolim, Roshei Yeshiva, Rabbanim, Askanim & Daas Torah. That name is Korach!
I’m actually having a hard time comprehending how so many little people like us would even dare to question or think they know better than our leaders.
Wow so just blindly follow. I feel bad for you. I remember gedolim from years ago and they would clearly explain the reasoning and acknowledge issues and people and explain the reasoning. I have not heard from any gedolim about these people. Do the people (VAAD) have your interests in mind? Fom what I know they have other interests in mind first and you maybe second or third. For you to just say follow like sheep is not daas torah. Hkbh wants you to think for your own. ‘Rachmana liba boee’. Of course feel free to ask someone who is aware of the issues and how to vote that will benefit YOU. Yes you are allowed to think for yourself as it is YOUR vote. YOU matter.
There are some many issues facing the tzibur, u keep hammering at one issue traffic..when u weigh the maalos of lakwd it surpasses the chesronos, nothing is perfect get a USB with some shiurim and use your time in the car
