The UK Demands a Thorough Investigation Into Shireen Abu Aqleh’s Death

While people were typing in their BetAmo login, recent developments regarding Abu Aqleh’s murder occurred.

A government official has told MPs that the UK has asked for a transparent investigation. This is in regards to the shooting of an Al Jazeera journalist while reporting in the West Bank.

Vicky Ford condemned the assassination of Shireen Abu Aqleh. The murder occurred during a clash between Israel and Palestine. This was in collaboration with the other members of the UN Security Council. The UK government, according to Ford, emphasized the significance of an early inquiry. “We also underlined the need for responsibility,” she continued.

Her comments came amid a statement from Bambos Charalambos.  The latter said that the killing was not only outlandish behavior. He added that it is an intrusion on media freedom and the autonomy of journalists working around the globe. It plays a vital role in reporting wars, finding answers, and telling stories of those affected.”

“Upsetting footage from Shireen’s burial was published,” he continued. “At the burial, Israeli police shot tear gas at mourners and hit them with batons. They almost forced the pallbearers to drop the casket and send it falling to the ground.”

The assaults on mourners were unjustifiable and further emphasize the need for justice. During a discussion, MPs from all parties condemned Israel over the assassination. Harrow East MP Bob Blackman noted that there is a fear that they do not know what happened on that day when the journalist was murdered.

Tory MP David Jones stated that there’s no mistake about what happened during the burial. He noted that mourners and pallbearers were assaulted by Israeli police officers. “This is not just the tale of Shireen, but many other journalists, such as the 55 Palestinian journalists slain since 2000,” Labour’s Naz Shah said.

She also added how Palestinians could trust Israel to investigate when no one has been held accountable for many years. The Palestinians, according to Shah, are constantly brutalized.

Robert Halfon emphasized that a Hamas commander recently encouraged Palestinians to commit terrorist acts. He noted this in defense of Israel. “What is she doing to assist Israelis to confront terrorism and these horrible killings of Israeli citizens?” the Jewish MP questioned the minister.

MP Kim Johnson proposed that an international criminal court conduct an independent inquiry. Also, fast action must be taken to bring those involved to account.

Crispin Blunt, the Tory MP stated that Abu Aqleh was killed. Blunt stated that a targeted shot came from soldiers who are under the unlawful occupation of a Palestinian country.
