    • I cant imagine sending large checks with kids to school is a great idea. Maybe the teachers should have hours on Taanis Esther so that children can come in person & they can get their checks. This also eliminates competition of who has the best costume, shalach manos etc.

Its a good start, but needs improvement.

  1. I understand Purim is on Friday and carona,it makes sense to cancel big community Purim parties ! But must we take away all enjoyment of Purim from the kids?? No collecting no Purim Mesiba in BMG no goingto teachers and Rabbeim! It’s a highlight of the day to go to their Rebbis and this is not a carona issue they see their Rebbi daily. Yes it’s a short day and if parents can’t make it the boys can bring to yeshiva ( like every year) . We have to be careful for carona but we also need to have compassion on the kids already . Everything has been curtailed for them , for goodness sakes take them to their Rebbi! Or maybe the Rebbi can make a mesiba puim night for his class .

  2. are the rebbeim interested in all those big shlach manos’s . ?! parents should better give something small and instead of a big one , give a big check or cash.

  3. When I grew up we never gave any mishloach manos to our friends. I went with my father to some rabbonim, family members, family friends and we gave to neighbors. This new concept where our children employ us to drive them around to give out mishloach manos is a bit out of hand. I agree and understand that children have to be taken into consideration and we have to let them enjoy the day as well but if it doesn’t work out for one year as we are trying not to have a repeat of last years Purim, it’s not so terrible. The situation could have been a lot worse like in Israel.

  4. opening sunday with a program is nice for those who cant make it eases some of the pressure but on purim, rabbeim should still be open a little for the mitzvas hayom
and everyons can do what works for them

  5. @Sad, while I agree with a lot of what you said, it behooves me how you can possibly spell Corona with an a! Carona?!! are you serious? You haven’t seen the word enough by now to know how it’s spelled?
Forgive me- it just makes me crazy when I see it mispelled!

  6. how about opening the school all sunday so parents can come down and get vaccinated? this will help keep the school open straight thru the summer…

    • As far as I know, schools are for children to learn & grow. It aint your doctors office!

Seems like some people cant read an article without stuffing in their agendas

  7. This should be done Every Purim
Purim is a Valuable day and a short day it is not meant to be driving around in Traffic for hours in a Car , children get Cranky and so do the adults and by the time the Purim Seuda comes everyone is wiped out and Drained

No one wants this or needs this not the parents not the Rabbeim and Teachers they also want to spend time with their Families and Neighbors and learn and Daven

And the children don’t want it either

There are plenty of opportunities where throughout the year that an event can be arranged in the Rebbes home at an opportune time such as Melave Malka or Mesibos etc

  8. It’s a good idea. All schools should follow & it should be done every year.

    On Purim:
    1. It will take some pressure off of parents thus having less stops to make.
    2. Rebeeim and teachers will be free thus not havIng to be home for their students.
    3. It will ease some traffic and gridlock around town.
