We cried. We davened. We moved on.
But Rabbi Bauman’s family still needs our help. The tragic disappearance and passing of Rabbi Reuven Bauman zt”l gripped us all.
This young, vibrant and loving husband, father, rebbi and friend made the ultimate sacrifice. At the tender age of 35, Rabbi Bauman gave his life in order to save the lives of his talmidim.
From the moment we heard the news, we worried. We davened. Some traveled to Virginia to search. When our worst fears were confirmed R”l, we cried. We shook our heads. But our lives moved on.
Unfortunately, Rabbi Bauman’s wife and five young children are unable to do so. In the blink of an eye, they were left without the backbone of their family: The doting father who took responsibility for his family and showered his children with love. The selfless ben Torah who served as the ultimate role model for his children to aspire towards.
The void is gaping.
From what all of us gleaned from Rabbi Bauman’s final moments, we can somewhat understand how much he loved his own children…how he would do absolutely anything to help them live a happy and fulfilling life.
Hashem placed this tzaddik’s ultimate wish in our hands…
A special fund has been set up to help secure the financial future of Rabbi Bauman’s wife and children and provide them menuchas hanefesh as they work to rebuild their lives without Totty.
The fund is managed under the auspices of Rabbi Sender Haber of Norfolk, VA and Rabbi Yisroel Teichman of Monsey, NY. Almost spontaneously, thousands of yidden from around the globe contributed over $600,000 towards this fund. Ashreichem Yisroel. Still, a lot more is needed to provide them adequate security.
Klal Yisroel is once again united to help the Bauman Family – to help the fund reach a minimum of $1 million through a 48 hour online blitz campaign on Monday and Tuesday, July 29-30. Please open your hearts and wallets to this urgent cause. Donate generously today at https://www.charidy.com/
In this zechus, may we never again have to hear about – or donate towards – such heartrending tragedies.
Incredible story WOW !
Where is the story?
Sorry! Didn’t have the video on my phone. Nice story
Wow !! That is an incredible story of Hashgacha Pratis. And keep in mind what R’ Dunner said at the Ahavas Tzadakah dinner – If they would have found him after more than 5 days it would have, potentially, been a big, BIG problem.
Could you expound on what R’ Dunner said. I didn’t hear it. What difference would 5 days make?
@amazing
Why??
Thanx for ur inquiry. I can give you a vague answer, for more information speak to ur LOR or any learned person. Basically, after 5 days in the water, we can’t rely on our standard forms of identification. Which could have been a big mess.
May we share Besuros tovos !!
Thanks for responding.
This is truly a mind-blowing story. I mean, what do I know about sea currents, right ? but I thought everything washes up on shore. I cant believe they found him a mile OFF shore. The Hashgacha is plain for all to see. It’s sad this happened from tragedy but it’s such a chizzuk for us when, every once in a while, H-shem pulls back the curtain and shows us Who is in charge.
Of everything. Health. Parnassah. Nachas from your children. Shidduchim for your kids. Normal, kind neighbors. Sensitive friends. Etc etc etc. Its all Him.
