The Boys’ Minyan Without A Leader

[COMMUNICATED] The boys’ minyan was famous at Yeshiva Torah Temimah in Flatbush. Led by Rabbi Yitzchok Steinberg ztl, it was a highlight of the day for the boys who joined the small minyan where 6-8 grade boys davened together.Running the shachris program for 20 years, Rabbi Steinberg created a unique minyan especially designed to uplift and empower the young boys to feel like an integral part of a tzibbur.

He worked to create incentives to encourage the boys to come on time, daven out loud as well as Rosh Chodesh treats.

But most importantly, the boys appreciated the chance he gave them to be part of a tzibbur by davening for the amud, leining and being a crucial, active part of the minyan.

And then, this week, their beloved leader, Rabbi Steinberg, was taken from them, a victim of the Coronavirus pandemic, leaving the boys without their leader.

His sudden passing has plunged his family and generations of parents and talmidim into mourning.

Rabbi Steinberg leaves behind his wife, Mrs. Fraidy Steinberg, and their wonderful family including 6 unmarried children.

Please open your hearts and help ease their pain during this trying time!
