Reader-submitted: I would like to publicly thank Lakewood Police Officer Robert Meyer, badge #230.
I was in a car accident last week and he showed up on the scene.
Although I was obviously at fault, the first thing he said to me was “Are you ok?” He saw that I was shaken up an offered to get me a drink of water from his car.
When my husband showed up, he told him to buy me extra flowers for Shabbos.
I am so proud to be a part of a town whose police officers not only do their job well protecting us, but are patient an understanding as well.

The police are really an under appreciated commodity in this town. With the racial diversity of Lakewood, tensions are quite possible. I think they do a spectacular job. I’ve had a few similar experiences with Lakewood cops.
I too have had many interactions with the Lakewood Police Department and could not agree more. The men and women servicing our town consistently go way beyond the call of duty. May G-D watch over them. Special shout out to Officer Youman!

Not all of them are that great. The ones at my accident last week were pretty nasty.
I had one incident where my stroller was stolen the officer that responded was super nice !!!
I had a similar situation and had the same experience with the officer. Perfect.
We are extremely lucky to be in a town with such an amazing and sensitive Police Force. Let’s not take it for granted.
I think the men in blue are too nice. However I wish that they would give out more summonses for dangerous infractions ,ex. speaking on a phone, parking too close to a corner , passing school buses with red flashing lights, making left turns onto Madison Ave. between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Our family loves when summer starts we know we can count on him for a cold water bottle
I’ll never forget the time I was walking with my wife by the lake and we were parched and Rob came up to us and grabbed some bottles of water he saved the day

I recently had a traffic incident and was very fortunate to have officer Meyer assigned to help us . A true gentleman !! The respect he showed to all parties involved was truly amazing.
