[UPDATE – FOUND B”H] TEHILLIM: Massive search underway for missing 6-year-old boy in Flatbush; Lakewood volunteers heading in to assist

A massive search is underway in Flatbush for a six-year-old boy who went missing this afternoon.

Yosef Shapiro was reportedly with a camp when he got lost in Brooklyn. He’s missing since approximately 4:00 PM.

Hundreds of volunteers in New York are searching, and volunteers from Lakewood Misaskim, Chaveirim of Central Jersey, and Lakewood Shomrim are heading in to assist.

A $10,000 reward has been offered for his safe return.

  1. Baruch Hashem he was found safe. Let this be a lesson that ALL counselors, heads and teachers are responsible for COUNTING THE children BEFORE you get on the bus. . The camp should be held accountable. Hashem should help the parents and the boy recover.

    • There will be plenty of time to scrutinize, criticize and to hold people accountable. For now, let’s just be thankful to Hashem that our teffilos were answered and that the family should recover from this trauma.

  2. Everyone who sat and said tehillim with passion, should now thank Hashem with passion. One perek, hallel, nishmas. This was a very frightening few hours and we are sooooo grateful

  3. Hodu Lashem!! So so beyond grateful that he was found safe and sound. I could not stop thinking of the mother and this child and just davened and cried that he should be found safe and healthy. This is a mother’s worst nightmare. Now let’s daven they all recover smoothly from this terrible trauma.

  4. My kids go that daycamp. They r the most responsible daycamp out there, where every precaution is made. This is the first time anything close to this has happened and they have been around for decades. Things happen that r beyond our control, let’s just thank hashem for the happy ending

  5. I have a Sony this exact age and it could have happened to him ch”v! He tends to wander off when we’re in public. It truly frightening!
