The Howell Township Police Department is investigating a serious accident involving a teen who crashed while trying to avoid a deer.

The crash resulted in a heavy emergency response from the Howell Township Police Department and Emergency Medical Services.

At approximately 11:20PM last night, a Gray Honda CR-V being operated by an 18 year old Howell man was traveling on Eagle Drive in the area of Woodpecker Road. The operator of the CR-V ran off the road to the left and collided with a tree. The impact with the tree was significant and caused serious injury.

  1. Always hit the deer head on, swerving out of the way can lead to hitting pedestrians or hitting an immovable object, better to hit a deer than a person and better to hit the deer than an immovable object like a tree.
