Tantzers Host End-of-Season Boys Trip for Patients and Siblings in Lakewood [PHOTOS]

As the end of the season approaches and the boys prepare for camp, Tanzters, an organization dedicated to supporting families going through illness, organizes a special trip for patients and their siblings.

Recognizing the profound impact that illness can have on the entire family, Tanzters places a strong emphasis on providing support and enjoyment to siblings who often bear a significant emotional burden. This year, the boys’ trip took place in Lakewood, creating unforgettable memories for everyone involved.

The trip kicked off with a fun-filled day of bowling. A total of 96 kids, including patients and siblings, gathered at the bowling alley, where they occupied 12 lanes. Laughter and friendly competition filled the air as the boys showcased their bowling skills, fostering a sense of camaraderie among them.

Following the bowling activity, the group made their way to Mayer Fischel’s house, where an exciting water fight awaited them. Divided into teams, the boys engaged in a spirited battle, armed with water guns, splashing and spraying each other with delight. The joy and laughter shared during this playful water fight created cherished memories for everyone involved.

After working up an appetite, the group sat down for a satisfying supper, enjoying a delicious barbecue meal. To add an extra touch of excitement, emergency vehicles, including Chaverim and a fire truck, joined the gathering. The boys eagerly explored the vehicles, chatting through megaphones, and immersing themselves in the world of the first responders.

The evening continued with a mesmerizing magic show that captivated the boys’ imaginations. Witnessing mind-boggling illusions and tricks, they were left in awe of the magician’s skills.

To conclude the eventful day, each boy had the opportunity to create a personalized bag with their name on it, designed specifically to hold a water bottle. This creative activity allowed the boys to express their individuality while providing a practical item they could use and cherish.

As a special gesture, the boys received sweaters as gifts from the Limonuv Rov, who took the time to address them personally, offering words of encouragement and support. The joy and appreciation were palpable as the boys proudly donned their new sweaters, symbolizing the bonds formed during this memorable trip.

The overwhelming feedback from the boys and their parents was incredibly positive. The boys reveled in the day’s activities, creating memories that will stay with them for years to come. Equally important, the parents were given a much-needed respite, allowing them to recharge and rejuvenate.

In addition to these special trips, Tanzters operates a family center in Brooklyn, which opens its doors weekly to boys and girls. The center serves as a haven where families can find support, engage in activities, and connect with others facing similar challenges. It provides a nurturing environment where children can be themselves and families can find solace and understanding.

Tanzters’ commitment to supporting patients and their siblings goes beyond the individual events they organize. Through their ongoing programs and initiatives, they strive to create a sense of belonging, foster resilience, and provide a support system for families navigating the difficult journey of illness.

As the boys return home from the memorable trip to Lakewood, they carry with them not only joyful memories but also a sense of belonging and support that Tanzters provides. These experiences remind them that they are not alone and that together, they can overcome the challenges they face.
