How can that be required. If they required pork would they sell it?
1. That’s a Stop n Shop item. Not a kosher store (unless it’s just a stock image)
2. NO, kosher stores are not required to sell WIC items that aren’t kosher.
At least the store should put up a sign that its not kosher!
Why should a non-jewish store need to advertise that its non-kosher?
all someone has to do is read the label and if theres no hechsher then you just dont buy it. alot of frum people buy in shoprite and there are tons of items there that are not kosher: as a frum person you know what you can and cannot buy: simple as that.
That’s ridiculous. Never heard of such a thing. And even if its true, notify the customers its not kosher. But I doubt its true. Especially since WIC prints on Checks “half gallon KOSHER milk”, so they know there’s a concept of kosher and what we cant have.
What I assume the store meant was that due to WIC regulations they are required to sell grape juice in a particular size and they were not able to find that size from brand with a hechsher ..
News flash! Don’t buy it.
I’m sure Kedem would be able to help out the frum stores and themselves. The store owners should contact the Kedem salesman and all will be cool.
Gut shabbos
Surprising. There are WIC recipients in Lakewood who aren’t part of our chevrah
