Take Note Of New Traffic Pattern In Downtown

new traffic pattern 1st stIn case you haven’t noticed yet, 1st Street between Clifton Avenue and Madison Avenue, is now a two way street. Motorists can now turn right onto first street from Route 9 and turn onto Clifton Avenue from 1st Street. Drivers on Clifton Avenue are urged to use extra caution in the area as the changes take effect.

However, 1st Street between Clifton Avenue and Lexington remains a one way. (East to West – Lexington Avenue – Clifton Avenue), until the Downtown traffic plans are completed.

Once completed, 1st Street will become a one way Eastbound. (See earlier report here).

  2. oh yea THAT was real intelligent, it has been a 1 way street for eons and now someone thinks NOW it’s a good idea for it to be a 2 way street, accident just waiting to happen, thanks alot.

  3. They did a great job on Madison Ave. however the intersection people around here need lots of help. They have a knack for fixing things that aren’t broken e.g. the Rt. 9/Central Ave. intersection.
