PHOTOS & VIDEO [UDPATED] A suitcase thrown into a Lakewood School’s yard prompted police to shut down the area and call for Ocean County’s K-9 Units.
Shortly after 12 PM, during a school break, a suitcase was thrown into the Yeshivah Ketana’s gated school yard by a passerby, and police were alerted.
Upon arrival, police ordered all the children inside the building and shut down the streets around the 3rd Street and Lexington Avenue yard.
The Lakewood Fire Department and EMS staged in the area as well.
Ocean County’s K-9 Unit was called in to sniff the item, which turned out to be an empty suitcase. TLS-46/TLS-CCP.

ok thats just strange that someone would “throw” that onto the school play ground. you show kids didnt drag it there, and left it?

To Mr. Conservative, After an incident like the Newtown tragedy, there are always some sick people who take advantage of the situation by being copy cats or scaring people into thinking they’e copy cats. Since schools were on edge today, there was someone who thought it was funny to throw the suitcase into the yard.
Its clear authorities were not takling any chances – just in case ….. (no pun intended)
Where is the LPD k-9 unit?
Another waste of taxpayer money, I think next time I see an overturned coffee cup on the side of the road I will call the PD…never know could be a……SMH….no it’s just a coffee cup just like that was just a suitcase. Living your life in fear is no way to live.
to yet again, but being careful is the way to go!
K-9 , LPD isn’t allowed , some ppl are afraid of dogs .
#7 where do you live? maybe a package you didnt order will show up at your door? Why dont your give the Police your address so they know not to come to your house. I rather be safe than sorry.
living your life in denial is also no way to live
