JUST IN: [PHOTO] Police are investigating a possible domestic violence dispute on River Avenue which involved weapons. Multiple officers responded to the home shortly after 3PM.
The incident reportedly involved several weapons, but no shots were fired, sources say.
Sources say the swift response of the Police Department resulted in 3 arrests.
The Detectives Bureau is investigating the incident.
On Route 9 Southbound near Oak Street, I just passed around 11 parked police cars with their lights on. Sorry to say a moment later an ambulance sped to the scene as well. I hope that this was a precaution and that no one was hurt. May G-d protect our heroic police officers.
Lcsw was not needed
The entire lkwd pd responded. Wow. Must have been really scary.
thanks so much LPD for keeping us safe
Why would 30 PD cars come to this scene?????
If they call for more officers they get everyone that comes to help…30 cars is a little extreme but you never know what can happen
Its the Officer Safety issue if a weapon is stated in a call
what a town we live in. Once n Foreall why can’t we clean the town up.
I wasn’t 30, Lakewood PD doesn’t even have 30 cars that run. It was more like 10.
The reason for so many police there were weapons involved this was a domestic dispute so who ever it was was mad and could have shot anyone the police were concerned for the public as well and the spouse this is Lakewood they dont wanna take any chances guns in the wrong hands =Death 9 times out of 10..Thank God for our Police can you imagen what it would be like without them..I dont wanna think about it!!!!
Where does it say 30 police cars?? Talk about spreading rumors. Come on people..read the story.
I was there locked and loaded
It was 17 cars not 30 I counted from my window
If 1 police car was there just for a short time & did not stay till the end – is that car counted??
Domestic violence is often the most dangerous call for Officers, because of the heightened emotions of the subjects.
A show of force and control of the scene is necessary when a weapon is in play. Officers safety is imperative, and then the safety of the principals is the next highest concern.
Officers and supervisors need to be tactful, reasonable, and skilled in bringing about a positive result where no one is hurt.
Nice work, LPD
to #5….Let’s not exagerate with saying 30 police cars responded. LPD doesn’t have 30 marked police vehicles. It would be nice if they did. Secondly, even on a good day, with an overlap of shifts, there would never be 30 officers working to drive those cars.
