Suspected Murderer Jahmell Crockam To Appear In Front Of Judge For Case Review – Trial Set For January 17

Jahmell Crockam, the man accused of murdering Lakewood Police Officer Chris Matlosz, will appear in front of a Judge today for a Case Review, a spokesperson for the Superior Court tells TLS. The suspect, along with the Prosecutor and Defense Attorney will appear before Judge Daniels to review how the case – which carries multiple charges – proceeds.

One charge in particular being discussed at today’s conference, is a weapons possession charge, which Crockam has not yet been indicted on, the spokesperson said.

The case against the 19 year old suspect includes 4 separate charges.

Crockam is being charged with the murder of Police Officer Chris Matlosz, the murder of Justin Williams, and two separate weapons charges. He was not yet indicted on the last charge, the spokesperson says.

A trial date for Crockam was set for January 17, 2012, 3 days after the one year anniversary of Matlosz’s murder. He could be sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Crockam is currently being held at the Ocean County jail in lieu of $7,165,000 bail for the multiple charges. TLS.

  1. What happened to innocent until proven guilty this America we have a justice system for a reason don’t condemn somebody to death before he has his day in court

  2. You know, I always find myself reminding people that in this country you are innocent until proven guilty, a precept that originates in the Holy Torah.

But sorry, when I see pictures of this killer, yes, he can have his day in court, but you know and I know and the judge and prosecutor know and you can bet his attorney knows it too that he is guilty and I can’t wait to see him sentenced to life in prison.

Too bad we don’t have hard labor in this country like the Japanese do.

  3. How do you all KNOW he killed a cop? Were any of you there? What evidence did YOU see?If he is guilty he deserves the death penalty but for know he deserves a fair trail no matter how strongly you will feel that he will be convicted.

  4. Here are the facts: A killer in this country today is spared the death penalty due to the liberals and and the ACLU. If in fact we had a clear cut law stating if you kill someone and are found guilty your whole family should be put to death the killing would stop.
    That’s my vote.
This should be the worlds law on suicide bombers also

  5. my original comment was moderated, too harsh for the Scoop.
    so let’s try it again.
Cop killers, or anyone else found guilty of murder should be executed. The nonsense of life in jail is a total waste of taxpayer dollars.
The only way people will learn the vaule of life is death.
Sorry to say the world must control life with death. It’s the only way we will survive

  6. To all those who are saying ‘in america, you are innocent until proven guilty”… that is correct, in the eyes of the court systems. We as citizens are not bound by that, and have every right to proclaim that he is guilty and announce our disgust and hatred for him

  7. Thanks for sharing this story TLS. This crimal will have a day in court and he will be in jail forever. There is no death penalty but he changed the life of thousands including me. As long as he never sees the light of day again, Crockham is a waste of life and God will have a hot place for him to go when he dies. RIP Chris. You will never be forgotten.

  8. OJ Simpson got off, and his bloody footprints and gloves were found at the scene, including the knife with his fingerprints, AND he got off. Nothing is in the bag, so be prepared for the worst.

  9. U know what’s funny. We the tax payers pay for his schooling & food stamps & busing & housing & everything he had so far & then he goes & shoots a COP that protects us tax payers & then we have2 pay for his trial & then life in jail. I don’t know about you but that picture looks very bad…… RIP Chris
