Can anyone possible simply explain, why despite dozens of accidents ,some almost life and death, the intersection remains the same structure wise,stop sign wise, etc ?!thank you
I crossed that intersection almost daily. When crossing that intersection heading north it is extremely hard to see oncoming eastbound traffic. The road curves a bit and there are cars parked legally that are blocking The view. Every time I cross the intersection I almost feel like I’m guessing. There may be a problem crossing the intersection heading south as well but I never do that so I’m not sure
The road curves right near that intersection, blocking the view of anyone coming. It’s literally impossible to see oncoming traffic when there are cars parked in front of the shul. Try it yourself, you’ll see.
IMHO- The most effective things other than making it a 4 way stop, would be NO PARKING AT ALL in front of the shul, (probably also directly across from the shul) yes, it’s worth losing parking spots to prevent accidents, and big speed bumps on 7th street -both sides- like they have a drop further down the street.
Not sure their are any minyanim at 6:25 in the afternoon. But it looks like that time of afternoon looking west would be right at the sun.
how much time elapsed from when turning vehicle was not obstructing view ? 1-2 seconds. not enough time at that corner to see if road is clear.
I drive through that intersection four times a day. At all times visibility is extremely poor. It’s a true sakana. When will the blame game end?
Just please do me one favor. Instead of inconveniencing the hundreds of drivers that drive down East 7th Street Daily. Rather just make parking illegal further from the corner which will allow further visibility
