A Lakewood resident is baffled, trying to figure out why a van would seemingly deliberately
knock over his mail box and drive off.
A police report was made.
Anyone with information about this vehicle – apparently belonging to a company ‘MMSI’ – should contact police at 732-363-0200.
Looks like the guy missed the house where he was supposed to stop. He backed up, accidentally knocked over the mail box and took off after he did. I don’t see any hate crimes here. Lets not blow everything out of proportion . Just call the company in Tinton Falls. I’m sure they know who was there at that time.

Yeah I agree with the comment on top of mine, it looks like he just missed the house and after he realized he knocked something over he drove off witch of course he should be punished for that but I don’t think it was a hate crime. If he wanted to really do a hate crime he prob would of done worse trust me.

Come on, stop crying wolf. That was a mistake and instead of being honest and leaving a number or knocking on the door, he drove off. So he owes someone some money. Not a hate crime. Don’t make him hate us for always assuming the worst.

The Dodge Ram Van in the photo does not have good rearward visibility. An inexperienced driver of this vehicle could have easily misjudged his trajectory while backing up and in fact he may not even realize he hit anything if it fell over so easily. Big bumper.

I was in the store today and someone’s shopping cart bumped into mine. Must have been a hate crime because he didn’t say “I’m sorry”. Get real!
Not sure what the intentions were but that definitely was no mistake. He was on the street and then backed up onto the sidewalk? And into a mail box?? Please!!
I’ve had my mailbox run into numerous times by my neighbors guests, including driving over my flower beds. No notes or apologies,ist drove off. Maybe I should’ve considered them hate crimes rather then just very poor drivers.

Based on speed in reverse, after standard (pass by), with such accuracy on target, it’s too difficult to believe it wasn’t intentional though doesn’t indicate a hate crime of any type but it’s not far from possibility, because as a former tuck driver, making this mistake is a lot easier on a much bigger truck to drive dysfunctional. Bottom line is, based on footage it appears to be a statement being made but no one can jump the gun without substantiating theories.

This was deliberately done. He is speeding down the road and not looking for any address or slowing down to look but instead he’s banking up like a wild animal with an anger in him driving backwards on the sidewalk, hitting the mailbox and taking off. In my opinion he should get arrested.
