Surveillance Video Shows Driver Strike Pedestrian, Flee Scene in Lakewood

Authorities are investigating after a driver struck a pedestrian and fled the scene in Lakewood.

The incident occurred early Saturday morning at the intersection of River Avenue and John Street.

Video shows the pedestrian walk out of a vehicle at the intersection, when the driver behind the vehicle struck the man, and fled northbound on River Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lakewood Police Department.

  1. Of course the hit and run driver had no right to leave the scene. But people should know, or learn, the correct place to drop off, or pick up a passenger is at the curb, not in the middle of a street. May the victim have a speedy recovery.

  2. That doesn’t look like a random accident. something was going on between the people in that car and the ones in the cars in front and back.
