  1. “Police are investigating the incident.” Whats to investigate. 1. The cyclist was on the wrong side of the street. 2. The cyclist did not have to green, he should have stopped. 3. The turning vehicles had the green.
Sorry for the cyclist. Glad he didn’t have any serious injuries, TYH.

  2. Bicyclist was negligent riding on the wrong side of the road
There are rules that bicyclists must follow and for good reason.

This is a quote from the New Jersey bicycling manual (Yes it does exist and explain the rules of the road for bicyclers) page 11, see verbage and diagrams on pages 11-13 to understand why:
    “Ride Right
This means riding on the right side of the road or on the shoulder, with traffic, not against it. The law says you must ride as far to the right as practicable.”

    • Well yes, when I’m in Brooklyn I ride in the same direction as traffic as is the rule, but it only works because the cars are expecting bikes so they know to avoid mr, but in Lakewood I, too, bike in the opposite direction of traffic so I could see oncoming cars without getting run off the road chv’s.

      • That is stupid, one of the reasons you ride with traffic is due to passing vehicles, I can see if there is a bicycle next to me, and you can avoid hitting me, if you ride against traffic then when I pass a vehicle and you are there coming at me there’s no way to avoid the accident, this is even true without passing, because cars sometimea drive slightly on the shoulder foe a few seconds and an oncoming bicyclist can be hit, the danger to the drive ia next to nill while the danger to the bicyclist is exponentially more, so how about obey the laws and avoid accidents.

  3. Bicyclist is at fault for riding on wrong side of road, he is supposed to ride with traffic and obey all traffic laws and signals, if he instead wants to be a pedestrian he can, but then he must walk his bike across the road.
