Surveillance Video: Masked Men Burglarize Rita’s and Hot Bagels in Lakewood

Video surveillance captured the moment a hot Bagels and Rita’s store were burglarized overnight.

At approximately 4:40 AM this morning, two masked men can be seen prying open and kicking in doors at the River Avenue stores.

The burglars then proceeded to burglarize the stores and made off with cash.

Police are investigating.

  1. It might be a wise idea to empty cash register, put the money into a good safe or take it home and leave the register wide open, so these mammals can see from the window that there is no money there. A friendly tip to help you.
    One more friendly tip:
If you are planning a vacation in California, if you plan to go to a nice store to buy clothing, please please please hire two body guards to accompany you, because lately it happened a few times that a mob of about 30 mammals they enter the store very quickly they are rushing at 50 mph they are grabbing merchandise also at 50 mph and I am afraid that if you are there when they come, they might hurt you by mistake during the whole panic scenario.
A friendly tip to help you survive.

    • If you take the money home, what happens if you get robbed at home. Would you recommend they not keep money at home, rather keep it in the locked store?
A locked safe may work if they aren’t successful removing or opening it, but it may cost you more than the money they stole, which happens on a very rare occasion.
Best tip in my opinion is to either deposit money in the bank often or hide the money where robbers wouldn’t expect to find it.
      Regarding shopping, maybe shop online.

  2. Silly people. If I would break into Rita’s or Hot Bagels it would be for an extra large red+vanilla gelati and the Hot Bagels Breakfast special with extra cheese, not the money!
These guys don’t know what they’re missing out on.

  3. This comment is vile. Yes, our community stands apart, and break-ins are very uncommon. Yes, there may very well be higher incidents involving petty theft and break-ins in other communities. But to paint an entire group as dregs of society due to the behavior of a few, use this incident as an excuse to treat them awfully, and then demand that they don’t take offense to it is just gross and antithetical to torah.

That’s not who we are, and it’s this kind of thinking that excused persecution and expulsion against us throughout our golus through the generations.

(Do I need to remind you of the other forms of theft on a far larger scale recently committed by a few INDIVIDUALS in our community?)
