  1. A Lakewood resident reportedly sent an email to Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles this afternoon with the following request:
“Dear Mr. Mayor, thank you for everything you do. The reason I am writing to you today is to inform you that Lakewood township could really use a traffic light on Main Street, where the street intersects with Clifton Avenue. I tried to make a turn there this afternoon, but I found it extremely difficult and unsafe to execute the turn because there is no traffic light there. Moreover, I noticed a strange yellow pole, with lights attached to it, laying in the middle of that street, which makes the turn even more difficult to make.
I was wondering whether Lakewood township could install a traffic light there, and whether the local sanitation crew can clean the aforementioned corner more often, to clear the area of strange looking objects, like the yellow pole that I saw there today with the eery-looking lights.
Mr. Mayor, I’ve never been a believer in UFOs or space aliens, but after seeing that bizarre-looking pole – with the peculiar lights attached to it – laying face down on the road, I couldn’t help but wonder whether a UFO had made a sudden crash-landing in Lakewood. Wow! I hope the township is not hiding that kind of information from us!
In any case, I can’t understand why there is no traffic light on that spot! Why is THAT corner treated differently than the other corners that are adjacent to it?! Seems unfair to me.
Mr. Mayor, if you can get a traffic light installed there soon, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
    Sincerely yours,
    Alex from Lakewood”
The Mayor reportedly responded to Alex’s request in an email, saying as follows:
    “Dear Alex,
The township is unaware of any UFOs making a crash-landing in Lakewood. However, there have been some confirmed reports, and definite sightings, of a huge truck making a crash landing in Lakewood. Thankfully, the aforementioned truck is a terrestrial object with no ties to outerspace or foreign galaxies.
Alex, your alert and astute observations are extremely important to us. Thanks for informing us about the need for a traffic light on the corner of Main and Clifton. A brand new traffic light will be installed there very soon, and it will be up and running in no time! Stay safe!
    Sincerely yours,
    The Mayor”
