Surveillance Video Captures Violent Motorcycle Accident in Jackson [Graphic Warning]

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a violent accident in Jackson, and it was all caught on surveillance video.

As reported earlier this week on TLS Status (along with the video), the motorcyclist was traveling on E. Veterans Highway at about 7:30 PM on Saturday when it struck a vehicle turning into a driveway.

The motorcyclist was thrown over 100 feet and reportedly struck a tree.

He was hospitalized with severe injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.

  1. Love the way this is worded. The motorcycle struck the car because it turned across the opposite lane to pull into the driveway. The car should have waited for oncoming traffic to be clear before turning left into the driveway.

    • The majority of people driving have little or no respect for people driving motorcycles. They just don’t realize that there is absolutely no protection from critical or fatal injuries on a motorcycle.

      • What does the motorcyclist rate of speed have to do with the turning vehicle’s failure to yield the right of way to it, Poz?

        • Many careful drivers misjudge the safety margin when oncoming traffic is going at an unusually high speed. It is a mitigating factor in assigning blame, but it’s true that ultimately, the courts tend to side with the speeder.

        • It was just an observation – it doesn’t change the fact that the car should have double checked that they had enough time to turn. However, that being said, there is an issue with motorcyclists often traveling at high rates of speed which has definitely been a contributing factor to accidents in the past. A lot of motorcyclists drive WAAAAAY past the speed limit, often also weaving in and out of lanes.

  2. Problem was not the motorcyclist! THE PROBLEM IS THE DRIVER OF THE CAR DECIDING IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO MAKE A LEFT IN FRONT OF THE MOTORCYCLIST WHO HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY!!! No matter what his speed! SLOW DOWN, PATIENCE, GET OFF THE FRIGGIN PHONE AND HAVE RESPECT FOR OTHERS ON THE ROAD! We all have somewhere we need to be or loved ones waiting for us and we’d like to get there safely!
