  1. At the speed that car was traveling, it looks as though that if the scooter didn’t collide with that car, that car would’ve hit another car on the main road.

  2. Both in the wrong, driver should have been stopped earlier and check for pedestrian traffic before crossing sidewalk.
    Per NJ law scooter riders must be in the road, as rightmost as possible and with the flow of traffic, not against. It is illegal to ride on the sidewalk. Additionally all under 18 must wear a helmet. I highly suggest everyone on a scooter wear one regardless of age.
