Surveillance Video Captures Child Being Struck by Hit & Run Driver in Lakewood

Lakewood Police are investigating an apparent hit and run pedestrian accident which left a child injured this afternoon.

The accident happened shortly before 7:00 PM.

The child, approximately four years old, was transported by Hatzolah to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lakewood Police Department.

  1. This is why Jackson does not allow dumpsters on the street. I’ve had near misses many times due to lack of visibility. Not excusing the driver for not stopping.

  2. If you look at the very end, you can see the car starts pulling over to the side of the road. It’s possible the driver did stop, just not right away at the moment of impact. How do we know they actually drove away?
