YIKES!!! Again? There are so many accidents at this unlucky location that it should be named “Demolition Derby Intersection”…with a warning sign in each direction: “enter at your own risk!”
The person that was making the left he had right away
What? Sorry Hudy…totally wrong! Here is the applicable traffic law quote: “Vehicles that are making left turns must always yield the right of way to oncoming traffic. When a driver is making a left turn, crossing the path of the right of way traffic, and an accident results, there is an absolute presumption that the car making the left turn is at fault.”
I don’t think so. The straight path has right of way over the turning cars.
The only time that a left turning car at that spot would have exclusive right to turn would only be during the 15 seconds before that light turned green, when there’s a left turn green arrow.
Addendum: Of course, if the left turn lane had a green left turn arrow, and the oncoming traffic had a red light, it would be a different story. I can’t tell from this video if there was a green left turn arrow.
I wonder what the employees at Urgent Care must think. The sounds of an accident make my blood run cold.
Well it is kind of convenient that anyone injured in an accident at that intersection can just crawl over to the conveniently located Urgent Care. I think it was a great business decision to build there.
