An accident took out a traffic light last night in Lakewood.
The accident happened approximately 8:30 PM at the intersection of County line Road and Hope Chapel Road.
No serious injuries were reported.

It a crash likely caused by illegal driving behavior of one (or both) of the drivers

Third accident here in the last five days, two of which could have been avoided if the county would just change the light to a protected turn. All three accidents were caused by people ignoring the red light. The sad part is that from the moment the light turns yellow on County Line to the moment it turns green for eastbound traffic is one minute. One minute. You can’t be that busy that one minute is going to throw your entire day off. Slow down, obey the law and get home safely to your family.
This accident should never of happened! Hopefully no one was hurt!
Lots of people seem to be in a rush, now you see an example of no patience.
I passed by the intersection this morning and the light was back up and functional.

Traffic lights in Lakewood are suggestion only. If tickets where issued and peeps held liable maybe they would think twice about running lights and stop signs.
