CHEMED will be hosting a parenting workshop on Sunday, helping parent dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. “Parents will learn how to use the Hurricane Experience to teach resilience to your children and how to turn this event into a growing experience”, CHEMED says.
The event workshop will be presented by Benyamin Halpern, LSW, CASAC-T, an anxiety and fear specialist.
Parents will also learn how to teach their fearful and anxious child about fear, and effective interventions to help them.
Their will be a question and answer forum as well, and Chemed’s behavioral health therapist will be available on-site for individual consultation.
The event will be taking place Sunday, November 4th, at Chemed Health Center- 1771 Madison Ave. Women: 10:30 AM- 12:00 PM and Men: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.
