I think this is a terrible idea.
You want to help those who are unfortunate? Go to a shelter, go to a rehab place, go to a hospital.
But do NOT this, which will make living on the street more “manageable”.
Help people help themselves, dont help those who unfortunately have very little regard for society.
Have you done any ?
Have i “done any” enablement of societal ills?
No. I try very much not to.
I tried to better society in other ways.
I gave around 15% of my income last year to help those who try to help themselves.
I’ve also helped out community members with various tasks, tried to call people to give them good cheer and a host of other things I try, though I certainly must do more.
But you missed the point.
There are people who need help.
And there are people who one SHOULD NOT ENABLE.
As a general rule, (yes, there are exceptions), homeless people should not be enabled.
While you must treat everyone with kindness, you should NOT lend everyone your SUPPORT.
Hope that clarifies your question.
Just a really a bizarre publicity stunt. How many homeless are there anyways, that 6 barbers need to team up to perform this ?!
What are you doing for them?
@Deeznuts
What are you doing for them?
I’ll bet nothing.
You just want to throw your support behind “sympathy”.
Well, you should learn how to channel your sympathy to actually help people, and not enable destructive behaviors.
Cleaning up with a haircut may help them get a job. What is wrong with you?
um. There is a LOT of assistance for homeless people in shelters and the like. We can go give THEM haircuts! And of course we should ALL help those people!
But people living on the street? No, they aren’t getting a haircut to be cleaned up for a job…
Where would they shower?
I’m glad that they don’t hang around the bus station in Lakewood asking people for money and cigarettes and on other business areas
