Summer CPR Courses for Educators May Save Lives

cpr course[Submitted by COL] Ever since initiating CPR courses for teachers and babysitters a few years ago, Chesed of Lakewood’s offices have been inundated with requests from dedicated teachers requesting slots at a course. Chesed of Lakewood held multiple courses last summer, at a time when teachers in particular are more available than during the school year. The response was overwhelming and dozens of interested parties had to be put on a waiting list for future courses. Those who did take the course were immensely satisfied with the quality of the educators and the tremendous amount that they gained.

With the summer upon us, Chesed of Lakewood is once again subsidizing CPR courses for those teachers, Rebbeim and babysitters who have not yet been trained in these lifesaving methods, with the first course taking place on Tuesday, July 1.

With the generous additional sponsorship of Monmouth Medical Center and Ocean Health Initiative, the course is free for all those in educational positions, with separate men’s and women’s courses.

Registration for courses is closing with very few slots available and coordinators are reporting heavy call volume right now.  Chesed of Lakewood expresses heartfelt thanks to Mayor Miller for his leadership and recognition of importance of CPR training for teachers by graciously offering facilities for these courses.
