We regret to inform you of the sudden Petirah of Reb Yisroel Blackstien Z”L, who was Niftar today at his home. He was approximately 60 years old.
Hatzolah was called to their home this morning after he failed to wake up, and upon arrival, Hatzolah members found him unresponsive R”L.
The Levaya will be taking place at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the 7th Street Chapel. The Kevurah will be in Lakewood.
Baruch Dayan Ha’emes.
Oy vey. R’ Yisroel (Kenny) was an absolute Tzaddik. What a terrible tragedy to mispalelei Willow Court shul, bichlal & his wonderful family, bifrat. He helped so many ppl start businesses and so much more. He was also a Massive Baal Tzedaka. My wofe was raising $$ for a choleh, over 15 yrs ago, he gave more than 10x what the next biggest giver gave. Really, there are no words.
BDE his bren for anything and everything to do with Torah was an inspiration for all that came in contact with him.
This is the 2nd sudden and terrible loss to our Vasikin minyan in BMG in just a few short months.
May his family find comfort among the mourners of Zion.
BDE
what a tragedy & loss to the lakewood community & klal yisroel in the midst of the yom tov of Simcha (happiness)
Such a special & caring person to everyone he knew & anyone that approached him for help.
May we all do teshuva so this does not happen again to us & our tzaros in klal yisroel stops
May his neshama have an aliya
Words cannot describe my shock and sadness upon hearing this tragic loss.
Kenny was a dear friend and mentor who will be greatly missed by everyone he touched.
Kenny was a true IT genius and pioneering Software Engineer for nearly 40 years. Kenny was the most fluent, prolific and innovative software designer, architect and programmer I have ever met.
He will always be remembered for his friendship, integrity, humanity, kindness and community involvement as well as his monumental professional contributions and prolific portfolio of cutting-edge technological innovations.
The passing of Kenny is a tremendous loss for all of us, may he rest in peace.
He was huge & quiet ba’al chesed. I used to be in the service business, locally. He once called me to tell me, he’s gonna send me a customer, I should quote them a price, which would be a third of what the price is & charge him the rest. And thats what happened. NO ONE knew. Not his wife. Not his friends. Not the recipient. And Im sure he did this hundreds of times & NO ONE knows about it. He was giant in our midst, and most people had no idea. And never will. May his family have a nechama.
What a shock and tragedy. R yisroel had no greater taanug than sharing a vort – the deeper the better – with others. His ahavas hatorah was infectious… Boruch dayan haemes
Kenny was larger-than-life,a thoughtful, principled, self-made man, with enormous strength, and a capacity for giving that was just astonishing. He cared for others and took life very seriously. May Hashem care for his Wife and children as Kenny cared for everyone, and somehow console them in the knowledge that he is sure to have a brilliant place in the yeshiva shell maalah, which will please him to no end.
An island of sanity that flourished – and nourished – in the sea of insanity that is our world…
יהי זכרו ברוך
and may he be a מליץ יושר for his family, and all of Klal Yisroel.
Whoever did not witness Kenney’s simcha upon hearing a good vort, never witnessed true simchas hatorah. I once told him a vort that he enjoyed very much. To show his appreciation he would buy me an aliyah every yom tov.
