Submitted: Purim Katan

Dear Scoop Readers and Kllal Yisroel,

Many may not realize that we are standing in an unprecedented eis ratzon. I am referring to today, Erev Shabbos tomorrow, Shabbos Kodesh. The truth is that every Erev Shabbos is a tremendous eis ratzon. Chazal elaborate greatly on this time. Additionally, today is Purim Katan, and tomorrow is like Shushan Purim Katan. We all know that Purim is a tremendous eis ratzon and the seforim say that this includes Purim Katan as well.

If this weren’t enough, it doesn’t stop there. These two days are the last two days of the holy days of shovavim. This is a time that we can purify ourselves more than ever. When it comes to spirituality, the ending is crucial to whatever was built. We can also get wellsprings of tikkunim at the conclusion.

So, at a time such as this, we need to gird ourselves, and do whatever we can in improvement. Especially in areas of kedusha.

The truth is that Shabbos is the fountain and wellspring for kedusha and bracha in this world. Chazal tell us that if we keep the kedusha of Shabbos, we can be zoche to the Geula.

Therefore, I would like to suggest the following. Let us begin with Friday, Erev Shabbos. Perhaps we should attempt to accept Shabbos ten minutes earlier than usual. This will enhance the kedusha of Shabbos. Furthermore we should try to prepare everything as early as possible. Let us try to open up our containers and bottles before Shabbos, to uphold the kedusha of Shabbos.

Now let us discuss Shabbos itself.

Let us be careful in upholding the kedusha with our words and actions. To not discuss business and other mundane subjects. Let us be careful with the reading material that we peruse on Shabbos. Let us start learning a few halachos of Shabbos and try our best to follow the halacha. Our seudos should be full of joy, singing and positivity. This will eliminate any tension.

Through all this, we will become elevated people – worthy of the geula sheleima which is getting closer and closer. And may we be zoche to joyously dance together greeting Mashiach Tzidkeinu very soon, Amen!
