  1. “Chase will never call you about fraudulent activity”. I do not believe this is correct, based on personal experience and Chase official website.

    • Chase will occasionally call regarding suspicious activity on your credit card.
A better rule of thing is to never give any information on an incoming call.

  2. It’s amazing how many times people hear about call spoofing scams and think they’ve discovered a new thing.
This tells me that there truly are many in our community who need to be educated as to the risks of the modern days.

    • I received a call with the caller ID showing my son’s Yeshiva. I was told to immediately send $6,000 to an account in Nigeria or else my son could not attend Yeshiva the next day.
Not wanting my son to miss even a minute of learning, in a panic I withdrew the money & as I was sending it I realized the person on the call used the name “Ezekiel” Never has the Yeshiva called my son anything but “Yecheskel (Yeruchem Yirachmiel)”
I grew suspicious & Baruch Hashem after only sending $4,000 I stopped.
I called the Yeshiva & they told me it’s a scam but if I had $6,000 available for that I must have the tuition paid in full in order for my son to attend the Yeshiva tomorrow.

    • I fully agree with you! When my wife calls me asking for money I immediately hang up on her! Saved myself so much “agmas nefesh”! 🤣
(Ummm, anyone here know a good marriage counselor, quick!) 😋

  3. My wife had this exact thing happen today. They even called from the local Lakewood chase branch number on caller id! Luckily she called me to ask what to do and by that time the scammer hung up.
