    I like better what Reb Chaim Kaniefsky used to say. Sometimes a person’s time has come. But instead of going quietly, they go in dramatic way in order to shake up the core of the Jewish people. Ultimately, if we take the reminder seriously the neshoma gets the zechos bringing about this tikun aholam.

    In a similar vain, the vilna gaon lost a daughter just before she got married. The gaon said “She was not taken because of sins, she was perfect in every way. Hashem takes people suddenly at a young age, so people don’t become complacent in life and think they have a lot more time.”

    Regardless, the tragedy has effected all of us very deeply, and no words can justify the horrific loss of a child.
