Same thing is happening at the UPS box on Hope Road in the new Liberty Commons plaza. I work in that plaza and noticed many, many boxes that were left behind yesterday after the UPS pickup. I don’t think those boxes are for packages at all.
What does UPS say about it? Don’t they want business?
They say the box is for envelopes. People need to learn the hard way. I don’t know why they think a street corner became a reshus hayachid.
The same thing constantly happens in Westgate! Many many boxes have gotten ruined. People drop off USPS packages outside the UPS box too. It is a shame.
I asked UPS why they don’t take them, and they told me that the drivers don’t have enough space, they are limited to what is in the box.
..And Monmouth and 4th. Boxes end up in the lobby, sometimes left on the street and destroyed. If the box does not fit into the ups drop box, the driver will not take it.
To be honest I don’t think that the general public even realize the correct procedure. Yes, take the packages to the Post or the Post office. This is the way. For the ups worker to take packages on the ground it makes them liable. I see packages sitting in WG plaza for weeks.
