As we get back to the school year rush, please help make bus & traffic safety awareness an issue. My husband drives a bus and drivers blow past his flashing stop sign every week, if not every day.
I attached a graphic I saw online. If you could post it or something like it helping to inform drivers, every little bit helps!
This is not accurate. On a divided highway the traffic on the opposite side of the divider must slow to 10 mph until past the stopped school bus.
Thank you! The graphic is very informative! I’ve watched cars pass busses many times and watched my child almost get hit and BH she saw the car coming in time and stopped.
also bus must stop in there lane not on a angle its just as illegal.
“Just as illegal” passing a stopped bus is dangerous. A bus stopping at an angle is safe but unlawful in NJ.
Buses will sometime stop at an angle in areas where lawless drivers are known to ignore stop signs. This may save a child’s life and a vehicular manslaughter charge for an ignorant driver. Are you one of the latter? You must be, as why else would you object to this since you have to stop anyway.
It might be best to allow school buses to make angular stops to better insure that children get discharged & p/up safely. I meant to say it should be made legal. Too many impatient 🔥 heads driving.
