I’d like to just give a shoutout to the County Connection in Toms River.
I had to be there for a service this week, and to be honest, I dreaded it. I figured it’s going to be another nasty government experience, and I braced myself for it.
But when I got there, I must say, I was extremely pleasantly surprised.
From the moment I walked in, a woman was there to assist me, and then the next, and the next – all employees I came in contact with were extremely kind, calm and friendly. It was NOTHING like a government office usually is. I literally had to look again to make sure I came to the right place, because this isn’t the way government offices usually are.
I didn’t get their names, but I believe this deserves a shoutout. They have what to be proud of.

Totally agree! We had the same positive experience!
The woman who did the intake and photo that works in the inner office, even had Kosher lollies for the kids.
She seemed very familiar and respectful to our way of life. Regarding tracking the passport, She apologetically asked “Are you guys good with the internet?”
Meaning she understood that our access may be limited due to religious concerns based on previous encounters with our community.
The best part is that their open Sundays.

Additionally, “They have what to be proud of” is a translation from Yiddish, but is a very awkward English phrase.
Same! We went for passports a few months ago with a bunch of little kids, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They made the process very pleasant, and we really appreciated that. Great people, smooth service! A model for all government offices.
