A new ranking by personal finance website Wallethub finds that the Garden State ranks among the top states in the nation to raise a family in 2021.
The rankings were made by comparing all 50 US states across 52 indicators of family-friendliness, including median annual family income, housing affordability, and the unemployment rate.
New Jersey landed in the 7th overall spot, having been ranked 18th in the Family Fun dimension, 26th in Health & Safety, 1st in Education & Childcare, 1st in Affordability, and 19th in Socioeconomics, for a ranking score of 58.76 out of 100 possible points.
New York came in the 4th spot, with an overall score of 59.80.
The best state to raise a family in, according to this ranking, is Massachusetts, while the worst state for raising a family in 2021 is New Mexico, which received a paltry score of just 28.95.

Who came out with this lie? First in affordability? Compared to where? I’ve lived in many places across the country and New Jersey is not first and affordability at all! You want affordability go out to the Midwest get out of the area here. New Jersey is not first and affordability. What a lie!
