Stolen Pitbull Returns Home With Wrong Collar

pit tlsThe 7 month old pitbull stolen from a Lakewood home during a burglary last week has returned home, wearing a different leash and collar, Detective Sergeant Greg Staffordsmith says.

“In the course of his investigation, Det. Michael Cavallo learned, from the victim, that “Finley” was returned in good health Saturday afternoon,” says Stafordsmith.

The resident reported that they heard a dog barking outside their gate on Saturday around 1:30 pm.

“When they went outside to investigate, they discovered it was “Finley”. He was wearing a leash and collar that did not belong to him. It is unknown how or who returned him to his home, Staffordsmith says.

The investigation is still active and anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Mike Cavallo at 732-363-0200 ext. 5317. [TLS. File photo]
