Statement From LCSW Following Horrific Incident

LCSW car with bar_wmIn light of last night’s horrific story, the LCSW has released the following statement:  As we approach the Holiday season, we are more prone to burglaries and similar types of crimes and would therefore like to remind the Lakewood citizens to be vigilant. Make sure your windows and doors are locked at night and that the area surrounding your home is well lit. Additionally, when walking the streets after dark, if possible, walk with a partner and stay away from unpopulated areas as much as possible. As always, if you see any suspicious activity, don’t hesitate to call LCSW at 732-367-1212 or LPD at 732-363-0200.

  1. you SHOULD be calling the LPD first!! not the LCSW, i appreciate the volunteers of the LCSW’s dedication but they are NOT the POLICE and i don’t want them getting hurt should one of them develop a hero complex and find themselves staring down the barrel of a gun

  2. first of all if they are risking their lives for you then thank them from the depths of your heart. also time and time again we here that shomrim was more succesful than the cops; just look at boro park and willy. although LCSW still has to establish itself more, the time will come when you’ll realize the foolishness of your comment.

  3. The only problem with comment #1 is that it says to call the cops “first”. The cops should be the “only” ones to call about suspicious activity. The police force is an organization put together by the public, as opposed to a group of self appointed “aputraptsim” on the tzibbur.

  4. If there is ever a matter that needs a fast response, I think Betzalel should be called. He”ll get there before ANY other group. Before Shomrim, before LCSW and yes even before the police.

  5. Well of course no one is expecting the members of lcsw to be putting themselves in dangerous situations and they are smarter then that.

Their goal is not to respond to emergency situations as cops do, but rather to check out suspicious situations, contain areas for the police when needed, assist the cops in searching for a perp, general searches, community assistance concerning safety issues, routine patrols etc,

They do consantly report to pd if they feel pd is necessery, in fact when they get calls from people about a situation that require pd, they either tell the caller to call pd as well or they call pd directly.

They do not take matters into their own hands especially if its a dangerous one. they are basically a filter between the certain type of people who feel hesitent to call pd etc.

They are not doing or trying to do what brooklyn shomrim does, there is no law that supports a citizens arrest in nj which make things different here.

  6. To # 5

LCSW is not self appointed “aputraptsim” on the tzibbur, they r actually up & running with the approval & support of every askan in town, rabonim, the roshei hayeshiva, the mashgiach & the police chief as well…so stop bashing, u may have been rejected by them or ur stam jealous…..take a cigarette and a coffee and relax….

  7. I hate to say it but if someone gets hurt or killed from the lcsw. What is going to happen they will sue the town and the police big time for letting them do it.
