Statement from Governor Murphy on Shooting at Chabad of Poway Synagogue in California

“Today is the Jewish Sabbath. It is the last day of Passover. It is the six-month anniversary of the hate-fueled mass murder of Jews worshipping in Pittsburgh. And, it is another day of a mass shooting, this time at a synagogue near San Diego.

“We cannot remain the only nation in the world where these events spark momentary outrage but then a collective shrug that nothing can be done. We must defeat hate in all forms. We must come to terms that we are awash in too-easily attained guns. We need a national reckoning as to what our collective nonchalance has led us to.”

Does anyone know of grants for armed security at shuls and schools? If not, perhaps Gov Murphy can start there.

Hi Grants,i don’t understand your question for a grant, does your security need state funds, looks all over America all Jewish institutions have armed guards, the shul pays for it and I’m sure there can be a sponsor for it, so before you look for a grant see maybe your shul has a sponsor

What this showed us is that the only way to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun.

Hey Governor stop trying to take guns away from good people.

Put as much effort in getting the illegal guns off the streets as you do punishing the good people with guns. That would be an accomplishment.
