State Sen. Sean T. Kean, R-Monmouth, has not yet decided if he will run for re-election in a redrawn 30th Legislative District, but he has all the petition signatures he needs, just in case. Kean, a Wall resident, now represents the 11th District. However, his home town was placed in the recast 30th District by the state Apportionment Commission, for the next election. If he runs, he’ll face state Sen. Robert W. Singer, R-Ocean, in a GOP primary battle.
Singer, who has declared his intention to run, said Monday that Kean would have a Republican primary opponent even if Singer decided to retire.
“If Bob Singer decided not to run for Senate, Lakewood would produce a candidate for Senate,” said Singer, a former Lakewood township committeeman. Full story in APP.
Lakewood, Howell and the entire district needs Bob SInger! We, as a community need to support him!
Why can’t he run for the state assembly instead? both Malone and Dancer will not be representing the 30th district any longer!
The same way singer has done good for his contiuents ,if we support Sean, he will also do a lot of good for us. That being said, we have to see who is more conservative to help bring our taxes down!
We really NEED senator Singer. He has the ear of the Governor and has the connections to so many of the needed services and offices for both the Tzibbur and the Yochid. His door is always open to everyine and anyone in need. We would really be in trouble with a Senator from Monmouth County.
