They would like some witnesses…for the trial. Even witnesses from the bar.

First of all, who said he was drunk? There has not been any news articles that verified that fact and he has not been charge yet as of this afternoon. Toxicology results from blood work can take a while and it’s quite possible the driver was having a medical episode.
Second of all, Police still want to do a full investigation to figure out how it happened and possibly prevent in the future. And to build a case for a conviction. For example- where did the driver get on? The turnpike has tolls at each entrance and it is not that easy to just make a wrong turn and enter the turnpike in the wrong direction.

The driver of the vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, Christopher Neff, is in the hospital. Why don’t they start by asking him a few questions???

this is legal due process, court is not a coffee room, they need facts and testimony to get any conviction.

It’s probably needed in order to sue his auto insurance for the lives lost

the defense will claim that he was not drunk and it was a road accident in the classic sense. Have you seen what the liberal DA did to Daniel Penny?
