State Does Not Allow Politically Motivated Plates-Group To Challenge It

If you treasure New Jersey’s trees, support football or buy local produce, the state has a license plate just for you. But if you want the world to know how you feel about abortion, property taxes or health care, buy a bumper sticker. The state makes license plates to extol, celebrate or simply recognize any number of things Jersey, but it doesn’t produce plates that it considers politically motivated. That policy is being challenged in federal court by the Children First Foundation, a New York-based pro-adoption organization, which is opposed to abortion and wants license plates emblazoned with the slogan “Choose Life.” AP
