Special OU Pre-Pesach Shiur to be held in Lakewood

ouWith Passover approaching, OU Kosher will be holding a special Lakewood OU Kashrus Shiur for yeshiva students during their bein hazemanim pre-Pesach break. It will be held Wednesday, April 9 at Bais HaMedrash Lev Avos, at the corner of Oak Knoll and Iris Road. The program begins at 12 noon and admission is free. Extra seating is being provided for what is expected to be an overflow audience.

This will be one of three pre-Passover programs arranged for the New York Metropolitan area across the spectrum of Torah observance – in Boro Park, for a chasidish audience; in Riverdale for a modern Orthodox audience and in Lakewood, NJ for a yeshivish audience. “The theme is servicing a broad spectrum of the community through the kashrut educational programs of OU Kosher,” explained Rabbi Yosef Grossman, Senior Educational Rabbinic Coordinator of OU Kosher, and coordinator of each of the programs. Each of these ASK OU Outreach programs is sponsored by the Harry H. Beren Foundation of New Jersey.

Rabbi Avrohom Juravel, Director of Technical Services/Ingredients and Food Technology of OU Kosher, will present “Products You Would Never Imagine Could Contain Chametz!” This will be followed by “Year-Round and Pesach Kosher Meat Issues,” to be presented by Rabbi Moshe Klarberg, Senior Rabbinic Coordinator and head of the Meat Team at OU Kosher. A question and answer period will follow each session.

Priority will be given to questions sent to Rabbi Juravel and Rabbi Klarberg at 212-613-0621 or [email protected]. Each participant will receive a free copy of the The Daf HaKashrus-Daf HaShana, Volume 19.
