Friends & Family Of Mayor Miller Give Special Presentation & Bid Farewell At Township Committee Meeting

PHOTOS & VIDEO: [UPDATED 1:10 AM – VIDEO 2] The Mayor was pleasantly surprised this evening when he walked into Town Hall and saw close to 100 friends and family and the Color Guard waiting for him. The special presentation was in honor of the Mayor’s last meeting of the year, and as a farewell for his deployment to the Middle East.

At the meeting, the crowd heard from Cantor Shua Kessin, and were shown a slide presentation in appreciation of the Mayor.

Following the presentation, the Committee members each thanked the Mayor for his job accomplishments for the year, after which the Mayor thanked them each in return. TLS. Photo credits: Lakewood Shopper.

  1. I was present at the meeting to pick up a check for our organization. This ceremony was very moving. Very befitting for the Mayor’s last meeting due to his deployment.

  2. The title is misleading. It wasn’t a special meeting. It was the regular Township Council meeting that a bunch of his friends with the help of Meir Lichtenstein threw in a major surprise event to commemerate his last meeting as Mayor due to his deployment.

  3. The video of the frum guy singing the Star Spangled Banner should be played in every classrom in every yeshivah. There is too little patriotism taught in our schools and yet, the USA has been the greatest place for Jews to reside in, in any place since the start of time.

  5. Some one needs to tell the singer with the guitar, that it is disrespectful to change the arrangement or cords when you sing the national anthem.

  6. I came a little late to the meeting but I must tell you EVERYONE in the room was moved. It was a very special ceremony.
Mr. Miller – we pray for your safe return. You make Lakewood proud!

  7. If this was such a special night in which he deserves, why was the other agencies not invited. it woul dhave beennce to see fire and EMS and OEM also pert of the honor gaurd.

  8. Actually, I love when the singer performs the National Anthem in his own style, very nice, respectful & patriotic because it actually is meaningful.

  9. Does anyone know which unit he is assigned to, where he is being stationed, and if/how it would be possible for people to send him letters, well wishes, and Happy Chanukah cards??

  10. Thank you mayor Miller!
Our best wishes and prayers go with you. Stay safe and get back soon. Also a special thank you to your family. Your wife, children and parents will be without you for Chanukah again this year. G-d bless them, and God bless you for being with American troops that are serving this great Nation.

Your spiritual guidance will be appreciated by the troops.
